advise on -good Auto Vacuum for 22' Intex Pool

i have a 22' Intex and have been maually vacuuming for little over 2 years now. now im looking for sugestions on side port auto cleaners.

Intex Auto Cleaner: at $50 can't be beat for value for money. Requires a strong enough pump, at least 1500gph.

This is the one I have. Love it. They say these are not for Intex type pools (probably because the bottom edge is rounded where it meets the wall) but mine works fine.

After reading all the different posts yesterday, I jumped off the edge and purchased a Intex 3000GPH sand filter, Haywayd skimmer, and the Intex robot last night. All from Amazon, and total of about $260.. Gonna be a fun weekend! LOL!!

If you are using the Intex hoses, You will need one of these adapters to hook up the intex hose to the Hayward skimmer.

This isn't true -- you can cut the end flange off one of the intex hoses and it will glue into a standard 1 1/2 PVC slip fitting available at the hardware store with a threaded male fitting on the other side. This will thread right into the bottom of the skimmer.

Please note the Intex pool cleaner does NOT hookup to the suction side, it is a pressure "return" side cleaner.

I for one own both the Intex pool cleaner and the Aquabug cleaner, I do NOT like the Intex, the Aqubug does a much better job and it is a skimmer side cleaner.

Just adding my recommendation for the aqua bug style of cleaner for an intex pool. I have Wanda the whale and she does a great job cleaning my 18ft round ultra frame.

Another vote for Sharky. Pricey but well worth it. Plus, he looks friendly. My kids call him Bruce, like the shark from Finding Nemo.
