I'm probably going to do some more research if/when I pull the plug on getting a new robot. I checked with Doheny customer care, and got the following information:
And I'm not saying the above list is unreasonable...it's just that, if the robot circles the main drains in my pool for an unreasonable amount of time, it appears to me that the return would be on me, and that there would be a restocking fee since I would not be returning it in new/unused condition.
I'm going to see what the return policy from a local pool store would be for the same item.

- To return for full refund, the item must be in new and unused condition and must be returned within 14 days.
- If the reason for return is simply one of dissatisfaction with the product, then I'd be the one responsible for returning the item, and covering associated shipping costs.
- Warranty is 24 months on motor and drivers only, not wearables..
- Warranty claims would be thru Maytronics.
