I have a SWG now and wondering if there are any negatives of converting to chlorine.

FC generated from a SWG and FC added from bleach are basically the same thing. SWGs simply use salt in a conversion process to make the FC, therefore you have some salt content in the water at all times that's all. The biggest complaint about adding bleach to a pool is typically carrying a jug out to the pool each day. With manual additions, you no longer have to check salt content in the water, just test FC each day. You can also have a slightly lower CYA level with manual chlorine.
