Got a hole in my liner from the deep end ladder

Opened my pool this year and was hit one problem after another. Heater, pump, multi-port valve and filter all had to be replaced.Through all the commotion, I almost missed the fact that my pool was losing water. Once the water cleared up enough to see the sides we found a tear in the lining caused by the bottom of ladder. Seems to me this would be a common occurrence now that I think of it since there really is no protection at the bottom of the ladder. Has anyone had this problem and found luck with a different type of ladder or some type of protective caps. I'm afraid the tear will open up again once the ladder goes back in.

It sounds as if perhaps your ladder doesn't have any bumpers on it?
