My borates are at 30 right now but like to get closer to 50. I bought boric acid and was wondering if I put around 8-9 lbs in now but my wife wants to go in the pool in a few hours. Is it ok/ safe to swim?
Yes, it will be OK to swim. Adding 9 pounds of boric acid will bring your pool's borate level up to about 40 ppm (see Pool Math) . Of course, posting a full suite of test results will help provide a more thorough assessment of your pool water chemistry.
