    Intake strainer on Intex Ultra

Anyone ever cut the center out of the strainer to increase flow? Would this actually help?

Yes, I took a hacksaw and cut off the mesh. Easy.

Only thing I concerned over is the crud that would go into the large strain basket mounted to the pump. I do not want to have to take the lid off it to clean as I pretty sure it will break the next time I do it.
