Calculating Gallons

Go to Pool Math (the link is above in the blue nav bar), scroll to the bottom, select Rectangular, enter your length and width, and estimate your average depth, and voila, gallonage! :)

After that, if you have a recommended test kit, you can carefully test your FC, pour a carefully measured dose of bleach into the pool, then within about 15 minutes test FC again. Put your old FC as "current", your new FC as "target", then play with Gallons until the amount of bleach you poured in comes up and presto - you have an extremely close estimate of your volume. :)

I would not call this a one and done. The strength of bleach can vary. Over time if you consistently are missing your targets for all chemicals, then you could adjust the volume.
