I replaced my salt cell this week as the old salt cell had stopped working. It was 4 years old which seems to be fairly average based on what I'm reading. When I installed the new one it had something called a Breather Tube inside it. When I looked at my old cell it had a space for a breather tube but no breather tube in it. My question is could this have reduced the life of my salt cell by not having it and what purpose does it serve? The old unit was installed by my pool builder. Thanks.

I have a curcupool so not sure about that, could you ask Jandy support, maybe there was a part change
