Hello all -
Pool - 25k gallon Blue Haven Inground
Pump - Hayward C4530BHMB

After cleaning the Filters, with the detergent and acid, the PSI is at 50. (pool guy asssitance) Before cleaning it was around 60. Is 50 still too high?

Hello and welcome to TFP! Generally, every pool's psi is a bit different simply because of various factors in pool set-up. But a psi of 50 seems a bit extreme to me. Do you know how old the gauge is? Perhaps it's time to order a replacement. They're not too expensive, and you can get a really good on one TFTestkits.net if you like.

If the gauge is fine, we would also be curious to know your water test results (to include how you test) and we may have some other equipment questions for you as well. You should also add that equipment to your profile settings as soon as possible please. Nice to have you with us!

Most all of the filters manufactured are pressure tested at 50psi. If your gauge is correct you are flirting with disaster. What pressure did this filter run when new or when you replaced cartridges, for a reference point? You can remove filters and clean out tank, then reassemble without filters and check pressure. And of course a new gauge is only a few dollars.

It is not possible for residential pool pumps to run at 50 PSI. Are you sure it isn't 25 PSI or the gauge isn't broken? What is the pump make/model?
