    What happens if you add stabilizer and let it sit on the bottom of the pool?

    I just read something saying not to do this, but it didn't say why. What happens if you add stabilizer and let it sit on the bottom of the pool?
    36 x 18 oval pool, inground, plaster pool.
    27000 gallons
    1 hp pump. Sand filter
    Pool built in 1971.

    It is slightly acidic, so it could discolor the pool.

    Thanks. Not a big deal on my old discolored pool.
