We have a Hayward Perflex EC50C90 filter. Bought it 2 years ago, sat in the box in the shed for one year - had new pool and this filter installed last April, 2015. Went to turn on this year and it is leaking alot around the main area where you lift up the filter head to see the filter "fingers". The gasket seems fine, but one of the 12 screws was not screwed right. Could this be causing all our leaking??

Hello and welcome! While I have never personally had that model filter, looking at the illustrated parts breakdown, I would think if there was a visible leak coming from the outside it might be more attributable to the upper housing not seated properly. Is the housing flush all the way around with the clamp assembly (bolt & spring) completely tightened/compressed? Sometimes those upper housings and clamps need a little rubber mallet "love tap" to help them seat well as the clamp/bolt is being tightened.

Just a thought or two to get you going. Maybe more replies will follow. Nice to have you with us!
