Temp 68F, FC-5.5, CC-0.5, pH-7.3,T/A-300,CH-330,CYA-<20 (added enough to get 50 once dissolved)

metal sequestrant used to treat 40k as i was filling. Been backwashing the filter as needed. Pump running 24/7

The water has a blue/green tint with a slight haze.

Since fill was complete (yesterday) the autocover has been left on.

Suggestions?

I built aerators for both returns last year. I planned on lowering the pH and aerating. With the TA so high, how much should i overshoot the recommended acid addition, since the pH will be hard to lower? I remember last year, I added almost 4 times the recommended (Via bleach calc) acid and barely got the pH to react.

What would you suggest for the water color/haze.....and should i wait to fix that until after i get my TA in line?

You want to get the TA down a bit before you shock (if you shock).

The haze will probably clear up from normal chlorine levels and a little filtering. If it doesn't, you will have to shock later when the TA is a bit lower.
