My version of a skimmer sock

This is my personal version of a skimmer sock.

I needed a way to distribute CYA without having to babysit it. I purchased a 3-pack of Control Top pantyhose at the grocery store (approx. $6.99, Leslie's has a single skimmer liner for $13.99), cut the legs off after tying knots and then inserted one pair in each skimmer.

The control top is woven thicker and tighter and make an excellent, well-fitted skimmer sock. I believe my skimmer basket is a 6" Hayward. This has been great for CYA, I poured it in and by morning it was all gone.

Love it! Some folks use cheap hair nets to do the same job, but those might have holes too big for CYA granules.
