vacuum hose won't fit intex pool

Not sure if this is where I should post this or not so sorry if this is in wrong spot.

We have an intex 12x30" metal frame intex pool. Got rid of the cartridge filter and replaced it with a intex sand filter thats 1200GPH.

For the past 2 years I had a small blastermaster pool vacuum that worked well. This year I can't seem to get it to work. Pool needs vacuumed badly so I figured I'd use this new
filter suction and get a vacuum hose. I picked up the smallest I could get at Walmart....35ft.

the skimmer attachment we have will not fit the hose. Is there an intex vacuum hose that would fit? because I can't find any online and they are closed today..... or is there a connection that will fit the vacuum hose to
    the skimmer attachment?

the hose didn't say how wide it was but it looks like a typical 1 1/2".

    Are we out of luck?

We use a short piece of tubing stuck in the skimmer attachment. It has lasted through three different pools.

18ft. Ultra Frame Pool. 1hp Advantage pump. 18 inch sand filter. Skimmer from previous Easy Set suspended over pool. Barracuda Ranger cleaner, new Hayward Leaf canister which is the best purchase I have made. Lots of dust here from gravel roads plus tree stuff.
