    Intex 3000 GPH pump system

Are these any good? I have read the reviews and some say they're ok but the fittings are awful. DOes anyone have one? Also, my pool is 20'x52"... I assume this is big enough.. Is that a correct assumption?

Re: Intex 3000 GPH pump system

I can report what I remember from here on the forum. While Intex pumps and filters are notoriously underpowered, the 3000 gph gets pretty good marks from folks who use it.

Intex fittings are also reported as not great and PROPRIETARY.

That's a pretty nice size pool you have and could use an even bigger sand filter. Have you given any thought to a separate pump and filter or one of the pump/filter combo's that are not intex brand?

Lot's to choose from but having a nice big filter (you don't need a giant pump) is really a pleasure.

I was curious about the pump size.. What do you recommend, and is there somewhere that would tell you what size you need based off of the pool size?

Re: Intex 3000 GPH pump system

I have the 20'x12'x52" and I think the exact same pump though it's always hard to tell with Intex.
It is more than enough for mine. Your pool is about 30% bigger but it should still be fine I'd think.

PS, mine was sold as 3000 gph but the actual flow rate is something like 2450GPH - see my signature.
