Foam Pool Base

Hi all,

just a quick question. I'm installing a buttress free oval 15x30 pool. Im doing an Extruded Foam pool base, 4x8 sheets 1 inch thick. Do i need to cover the metal pressure pads and metal straps with a layer of compacted dirt or just put the foam over those plates and straps now and tape the seems of the foam on top?

However the directions say to do it, the only difference is when they say sand base you use the foam instead.. so if the directions say put dirt or sand over the metal straps then the sand base that is what you need to do..
