Patch PVC hole

Anyone have any advise on how to patch holes in my PVC?

My PVC has 2 holes drilled in them for an inline chlorinator that I do not use.
The last 2 years I've installed the chlorinator just to fill the holes but its just sitting there doing nothing.

Sometimes filling a hole can be tricky, especially on the pressure side with the water trying to push-out the sealant or epoxy. I believe others have actually just inserted a make-shift plug with simple parts from the hardware store. This way something was actually screwed-in that was a bit more secure. Just a thought.

I had one of those in line chlorinators and plugged the holes like this:

Cut 2 inches of the black tubing that goes from the hole to the chlorinator,
put some liquid nails or silicone adhesive on the threads of a 1/2 inch length stainless steel bolt
(make sure the bolt can be pushed in the tube with some difficulty and not so small that it easily slips off)

Then push the bolt into the tube, then secure it with a small hose clamp.

I did this and it has no leaks. If I wanted to do a stenner bleach pump later, I can.
