    New Pool

So the pool is up and full. Do I just switch on the pump and let it run, how long should I run it for and also what chemicals do I need to get in there right away. I am planning on using a floating clorinator.
    Thanks

Where is Brooks? Can you please add the state/province/parish to make it easier for us to answer questions, knowing your climate sometimes affects how we answer questions.

You might want to reconsider the use of that floating chlorine thingamabob. Eventually they can cause problems for you. We need more details and how you plan on testing. Got a test kit? Which one? We only trust 2 on the market: The TF-100 or the Taylor's K-2006.

    Re: New Pool

Welcome to TFP and congrats on the new pool!

+1 to adding your state over there <----- so we know what the climate is.

I would order a TF100 from TFTestkits.net. I have been buying my test kits there for years. We need to see some test results to determine what chemicals are needed.

    Here are the basics.
Keep PH between 7.2 and 7.8 at all times.
We can't recommend a CYA level until we know your climate
Keep FC level at 2-3 at all times for now until we get CYA figured out.
