Selecting a new pump

I have a 10k gall above ground pool. I'm on the market for a new pump. I'm seeing that 3/4 hp should be plenty but most of the selection I am seeing online is for 1 hp or higher. I'm not married to Hayward but my local pool shop carries Hayward products so it would be convenient to purchase this brand for future maintenance. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, welcome to TFP! A 1 hp 2 speed would be a good option for you. It runs about 3/4 hp on low for everyday filtration and you switch it to 1hp on high for vacuuming. Every major pump maker has a 2 speed for above ground pools.
