Pool sand

Going to replace because I am replacing broken laterals. I know people here say never ne to be replaced but since I'm already in there.......

My pool store sold me a medium called echo glass when I purchased the filter 4-5 yrs ago. Does anyone know if it's any better than pool sand for that matter has anyone ever heard of it?

It's a lot more expensive than regular sand. Wondering if it's a rip off.

Also does it matter where you buy the sand? Is it all the same?

If you use the search box for glass or zeosand or zeobrite, you'll find most threads indicate there's no advantage to the sand substitutes.

All sand is not alike. If the grains are too small, they'll slip right through the laterals and end up in your pool. Look through My findings on how not all sand is created equal
