Just bought a new basket for my skimmer and the one that was sent to me has this little disk thing in the middle. What is this for?

The new baskets tend to use cheaper, less dense plastic, which tends to float more than older baskets.

Yeah this new one definitely is more dense. It was really inexpensive also online
