Hi all,

Just want to know if I'm on track to clear water. And what I should do next. I have blue cloudy water...backwashing 4 times a day...running pump 24/7

Having hard time vacuuming because I can't see the bottom...

FC 6
BR 5
CC 5
PH 6.8
CYA 0
TA 80
CH 350

thanks

One problem for sure is you have no CYA available which means your (bleach) FC is being eliminated quickly by the sun. In addition, your pH is quite low and should be elevated to 7.2 for now as it would appear you will need to perform a TFP "SLAM" to clear your water (link below). Can you confirm please what test kit you used for the tests?

Okay, then it looks like the K-1005 has most everything you need for testing except for the FAS-DPD (powder & drops) to test FC over 5. You'll need that for sure and can order it from HERE.

To increase CYA via granular stabilizer, place the required amount as calculated by the Poolmath calculator into a white sock and place in the poolside skimmer basket. For those concerned about suction flow to the pump, suspending the sock near a return jet or from a floating device will also suffice. Best never to allow undissolved granules to rest directly against the pool surface. Squeeze the sock periodically to help it dissipate. Once dissolved, consider your CYA adjusted to that programmed (target) level. CYA test readings should show a rise in 24-48 hours, however some pools may experience a longer delay to fully register. Best to confirm final CYA in about 5-7 days before adding any more stabilizer/conditioner.

and one thing I forgot to mentioned. I see a lot of small particles in the water...can't even get them with leaf skimmer. I get as much as I can...

Can I put anything on the skimmer basket to capture those small particles? I added DE put clogs my sand filter fast- few minutes later low circulation

There are skimmer socks that you can put in your skimmer basket. Keep an eye on it though because they can clog up fast too. Dead algae clogs up everything fast.
