Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has experience with clear solar pool covers. Do they really cause more algae growth when compared to blue covers? Do people prefer clear as they may heat the water quicker? My kids would like to see the color of the water more than the dark blue cover color we have now. Thanks for your help.

Welcome. I had a clear one before, I never noticed much difference. Solar covers retain the heat and prevent evaporation. I have one that is blue on top and silver on bottom. Algae is a water chemistry problem.

Some people like the blue covers and others the clear.. mostly whatever works for you.. I think most people see more FC use because the water heats up and requires more FC
