jblizzle is on target. The reason the k-1000 OTO chlorine test is in the kit is to test...."Yes, I still have chlorine and it's about the same level as yesterday" It is not very precise but it is quick and absolutely reliable.

Naturally, the FAS/DPD test is the precision test. It's the "flagship"test of TFP, sort of, and what we teach and the way we test often revolves around the really nice accuracy of that test.........it's just a bit time consuming if you are in a rush.
 
I don't really see the point in the K1000. I can do the fas/dpd test very quickly and it is accurate. Maybe it's just me but I couldn't stand doing a test that just verifies a range of FC. I need to know! Maybe that's just my OCD coming out though :)
