    How much bleach to start

Hello. My pool is an above ground 12x18 oval pool and have a swg. I know that the first thing my pool needs is chlorine. Can anyone tell me how many jugs of bleach I should put in to start? The pool is about 6000 gallons. Thank you.

Use Pool Math (link above) to calculate based on gallons and CYA.

Chlorine level is set based on your CYA level and the Chlorine CYA Chart. Always keep it at target and never let it drop below minimum.

Gotta test first. You can't tell how much to add until you find out how much you have to start with. Probably zero but I want to emphasize you must test all parameters first.
