Saving Test Reagent During SLAM

I am doing a SLAM after uncovering the pool this year.

I am trying to maintain 16 ppm which is what my stabilizer level called for.

I am using the Taylor K-2006 kit.

Everytime I test for total chlorine it takes 32 drops of R-0871 using the 10ml sample size which is .5 ppm per drop.

Is it acceptable to use half the 10ml sample size and read 1 ppm per drop???

If so would I still use 2 scoops of DPD powder?

As someone who recently went through the same thing, and slowly learned the answer from various replies in this forum, let me answer that!

Yes it is ok to use the 10ml sample and measure in .5ppm increments, and only 1 drop of dpd powder is enough. I don't know why the instructions tell you to be 2 scoops in no matter the sample size, but it only make sense that 1 would work for 10ml if 2 is enough for 25ml.
