My R0008 bottle (which turns the sample green) was having trouble getting the drops out, so I picked the opening with a fork to make it easier for the drops to come out. But now it seems like the drops may be a bit bigger. Would bigger drops of this regent have an affect on the TA test?

Yes, you want the drop size that comes out of the original dropper. Email me at [email protected] and I can get you a new bottle of R-0008 OR a new dropper immediately. Sorry, you may have had a defective dropper and I want you to get the correct one.
Ok, I understand the R0009 drop size is important, but is it really vital for the R0008?
R-0008 is an indicator dye. More or less will only lighten or darken the hue and will not change the TA reading. Of the 3 reagents for TA, R-0009 is the only one where drop size truly matters.
The idea behind the dropper tip (on all the reagents) is not the size of the opening. It is the surface tension of the drops as the fluid comes out of the dropper tip.
The tip is designed to "hold" the fluid on the end until gravity overcomes the surface tension and it falls off the tip.
Regardless, poking a fork in it will result in little help......let it fall naturally.
