    Welcome to TFP!!

It appears that the pump has lost it's prime and is running dry. That strainer basket appears to be empty.

Has the water level in the pool dropped below the skimmers and you are sucking air into the system?

The water level is a mid point at the skimmer. I also tried switching between the skimmer and bottom drain with the three way valve and it does not change anything. The pump is only four years old and lots of pressure going out in the pool.

Maybe it's pulling in air somewhere ?

    Welcome to the forum.

Prime the pump. Pour as much water as you can into the pump strainer basket and then QUICKLY put the see-thru lid back on and start the pump. You may have to do this more than once but it should prime on it's own.

Tried that a few times. Water stays high in pump basket. Noise continues...

After filling the pump basket area with water, turn the pump on for few seconds to see if it wants to suck water into the pump (you don't need the lid on to test this) you should notice the basket area go from filled to empty, if the water level stays the same in the basket area after turning the pump on, the pump impeller has spun off its shaft.

Because you say water stays high in pump basket leads me to believe the impeller has spun off the motor shaft, because even with the pump lid off and basket full you should notice the basket water wanting to be pulled into the pump when turned on

This is something to rule out at least, and easy to do.

You are safe running the pump for 2-3 minutes during the prime attempt......How much time are you giving it?

It's working full time. The pump basket stays at 3/4 full. No difference in noise.

OK. The basket looks empty in the video. So you are saying that when the pump is on, the basket becomes 3/4 full and stays there. My assumption is that you are pumping water.

Ya it's pumping water and pressure coming out of the jet in the pool is strong.

Now it sounds like you have a suction side air leak.

Do you have a pressure relief valve on the filter? Do bubbles come out of your returns?

No pressure valve installed on filter. No bubbles out of return.

Someone just texted me and said that the shaft in the pump may be loose and eventually the bearings will end up getting it.
