dichlor and increased cya

Go to PoolMath at the top of the page and then scroll to the bottom where it says effects of adding chemicals. It will tell you how much CYA will be raised by adding dichlor as well as its effect on pH. If you need help navigating PoolMath, let us know.
Regular dichlor does not contain copper.

For some strange reason I felt like doing some math.

In 17,100 gallons 1lb of dichlor will raise FC 3.9 ppm and CYA 3.6 ppm. So, assuming your pool uses the midpoint of the 2-4 ppm average FC per day at the end of 30 days you CYA will be about 82 ppm higher than your started.
