We are in the process of picking a new pool liner and I am having more anxiety over it than I did getting married. Anyways I am looking at Plastimayd liners and they have a few options for 20/27 mil, 27 mil, and ultra-mayd (supposed to last 50% longer). Is it really worth spending the money for the thicker liner or is it just a way for pool companies to make a little more money.

Welcome to the forum. I was born in Leavenworth and grew up there until I left for School.

A little thicker would seem to be an advantage but it doesn't seem to show any real extra longevity. The installers will suggest the 20 mil because it is easier to install and I agree. That feature alone sort of convinced me so I used a 20 mil 10 years ago and it's still strong.
