    Bleach

    Where can I find 6% bleach. Or is 8.25% ok to use?

    8.25 at Walmarty is good.

    Thanks. That's what I am using. Seems all is good. Why do all the articles push 6% if you can't find it anymore?

    Articles? Some posts get popular because of recent seasonal bargains. You can use ANY percentage that you find locally and that is a good bargain for you. Just ensure to manually update the "weight" block on the Poolmath Calculator so that it auto-calculates the correct % you are using.

    The bleach manufacturers increased the standard strength a few years ago from 6% to 8.25%. As such anything written before then will often use 6% as shorthand for regular strength. Any strength is good as long as it is pure chlorine, no scents or thickeners.
