Do I need to ADD BORIC ACID again this year if I already added it last year???

Just a quick question, I added approx 25lb of Boric Acid to my pool last year (14x26 in ground vinyl approx 9500-10,500). I closed it at the end of the summer here in NJ. I just reopened the pool (it was covered with a Loop Lock Mesh cover) and shocked and cleared up my pool a few days now. So Im wondering if I need to now re add Boric Acid again?

Also how can I measure the PPM for Borates in my pool if I need to know the levels?

thanks all!

Both Hach and LaMotte make test strips for borates (both available on Amazon). Not the best in terms of precision values but it will tell you what ball park you're in. Only water exchange lowers borates.
