My "helpful" husband was determined to solve our pool problems by adding one bag of Chlorox Shock Plus and Bleach and Baking Soda at random despite my warning not to do so.
I have been trying to get back to good levels and my CYA continues to stay low. I've added what the pool pal app has told me every day for the last five days and my CYA is still low. It's been several days of 3-5 lbs of stabilizer - I have gone through two and a half containers.
Do I just keep adding stabilizer? Is it safe to swim while the stabilizer sifts through the sock?

Yes, it takes awhile to dissolve. you can squeeze the sock to help it dissolve. I've been doing it for years and I still have all my fingers

btw, once added it can take 5-7 days to fully register on tests so save your reagent

DO NOT add any more! It can take a few days to probably register on the test. I suspect you have more than enough.
