Hello All, just joining from Las Vegas. Pool is 17 years old with a Caretaker 99 in floor, Pentair 2hp Whisperflow , Ultra Pure Ozonator. All original and showing signs of age. (Ozone probably not working at all) Hard to find trustworthy advice in Vegas so here I am.

A couple things specific to your locale: you may want to run higher CYA than the guidelines suggest, because the Vegas sun is brutal and high CH is going to be a fact of life. Pay attention to the CSI when you start messing around with poolmath. You can keep your pool from scaling without much difficulty up to 800 at least, if you're vigilant. Just file that away for now, don't obsess on it until you've digested the basics and have some hands-on experience with testing and dosing.
