PSI gauge

Just moved into home with 24ft x 4ft pool with sand filter trying to get it up and going but the pressure gauge is still at zero when the filter is turned on any ideas of what I need to do?

Hi, welcome to TFP! The pressure gauge is easy to replace. You can get a replacement gauge at most hardware stores for less than $20. The gauge will unscrew from the filter and you can take it with you to be sure to get the correct size.

Gauges are cheap and very expendable.

I actually just replaced it with a new and it is still at zero

Maybe you have some valves that are closed or something.
Post some pictures or at least a more detailed description of your plumbing. How did you "turn the filter on" ?

Do you have water flow coming out of the return jet?

If it had a rubber plug with a little rubber tip/nib did you follow the instructions to vent interior air space? Did you use 2-3 wraps of Teflon tape? Pictures please. Does the pump prime successfully? Is the manual air vent open/closed

Two speed pump on low? I have a two speed 1 hp pump, and the psi gauge stays at zero when it runs on low speed.

That is true if you have a two speed or variable speed pump and run it on low speeds the gauge may not show an increase in pressure. If that is the case set the pump to a higher speed and see if the gauge moves.
