I just contacted Caretaker (Zodiac) for a rebuild kit and a couple of new heads. They informed me they now charge $20 to ship a rebuild kit and $10 per head for new pop ups. I have never paid before. Is this happening to everyone?

How old is your system?
Look at the warranty paperwork for your system. Look to see if it mentions shipping costs or can be modified as the company sees fit. If not, make a copy and email it to them - and hold them to their warranty commitment. Here's a link to the warranty, dated 2014:

See if you can pick parts up for free from your pool builder or a Caretaker/Zodiac dealer near you - this would alleviate their over priced "shipping" cost. I think they support the system out of the Salt Lake City facility - if so, shipping for SLC to LAS isn't very expensive.
