    Polyquat 60 same as algaecide?

During an ascorbic acid testament it was recommended to use polyquat 60 while chlorine was low, is that the same as a store bought algaecide? If not where does one get polyquat 60?

Polyquat is just a brand name. All the pool stores in my area carry a different brand. Look on the label, if it says 60% poly-ethylene it's the same as polyquat 60.
