    autocover and shocking the pool

In the process of opening my new pool for the first time. It is a vinyl inground pool (20x40) and I have an autocover on it (dark blue so very little sunlight gets to the pool). Should I leave the cover open or closed after I shock the pool Did not know if the high FC level may adversely affect the cover.

12*24, 8,600 gallon vinyl inground, 12*18 H2otsun solar panel, Polaris ATV, 1hp Superpump

Re: autocover and shocking the pool

Leave it off because part of the shocking process is from the UV light and the outgassing of volatile oxidation byproducts.
