Hi from NY - our pool looks like an alligator swamp :)

    Hi all,
This site is a terrific resource. We just move to a new house that hadn't been lived in for for a few years. The elderly owners moved to their condo in FL and did not come back to their NY house much apparently. The pool cover feel in over the years and grew moss and some fledgling cattails on top. I scrapped the weeds, moss and leaves off the top (hundreds of pounds of stuff). Then my husband was able to pull the cover out. Crazy. Now I am trying to get the debris out without spending too much money. Also it looks like about half of the tiles fell out. They are nice vintage looking tiles so I am hoping to resuse then. I plan to see my son, the dog, and friends swimming in the pool this summer.
Profile incomplete for now but gunite IG pool, has not been used in 3-4 years - at least. Looks like an alligator swamp at the moment. Workng to get the leaves a debris out and turn a black pool into a crystal blue pool. Rockland County, NY

Q: How do you eat an elephant?
A: One bite at a time.

Your pool restore sounds like a big undertaking. You can do it, just take it one bit at a time. Best of luck.
