Opened the pool for the season at last. The effects of raising the chlorine levels high before covering last year is as follows.

CYA - 20
FC - 4
pH - 6.8

Water is crystal clear. So right now raising the pH. Should be a trouble free season.

BTW for anyone interested, Walmart is carrying liquid chlorine by Pool Time. $2.50 a gallon. Stock up everyone

Nice to see some FC at opening! Usually means you'll have an easy start up after opening. I've seen a few folks with a bit lower pH at opening as well. How is your TA level? Make sure you know that before attempting to adjust pH.

What is the percent chlorine in this product? Did you find it in the pool section?
