Does dead algae, of any kind, tend to settle on the bottom, float on the surface, suspend in the water, or all of the above?

The dead stuff tends to clump up into aquatic dust bunnies on the pool floor that go poof when you approach them with a brush or vacuum. The dead bleached corpses also hang in suspension which is why do many people have cloudy pools after killing the green stuff. Floating on the surface, I don't know. Why?
Thanks. Haven't actually seen algae in a long time and was wandering. Been having a big problem with pollen though.
Try a skimmer sock. I use knee-high nylons. Others have had good luck with hairnets, paint strainers, and actual skimmer socks. They'll catch most of the pollen before it can clog up the filter.
Yea thats what I'm using is knee high pantyhose. I've had to clean it about every 30-60 minutes because it is that bad. I made a skimmer extension and it's cleaning up quicker.
