Thanks, does it seem as though I'm on the right track? I still have stabilizer going in the pool through the stocking method. Are there any particulars I should watch for?

A SLAM just takes time. Patience is one of the most important ingredients. As for the stabilizer, I don't recall where you are right now. But if you're CYA is at 30 or above, you can pull the sock for now so that you can stay at the corresponding FC level for that CYA based on the chart. Everything you said about daily brushing, steady psi, and backwashing made total sense. I think you're doing very well, and the pics prove it.

Okay, then certainly make sure that sock is dissolved and if it's been a couple days test the CYA again with the bright sun behind you. You certainly want at least 30 ppm to protect your FC.

I was able to check me chlorine this morning before leaving for work. I only lost 1, maybe 2 overnight.

Lost maybe 2 FC today (at 7 now) and I'm at .5 CC. Went ahead and tested for CYA even though not all of it has dissolved and I'm right around 20. Pump pressure is at 18 (starting point 14)

If you are sure about the CYA only being 20, you might want to increase it by about 10 ppm just so you know it's closer to 30 for better top-cover for your FC. Backwashes could be responsible for the drop. Nice work staying on top over everything.

Still cloudy, wasn't able to tell if it was more clear before I left for work this morning. But it has gotten clearer each day, but still pretty cloudy. I could not see the bottom of the shallow end yesterday

Okay then. Stay with it. Also, at some point, please add your equipment to your signature. I wasn't sure what type of filter system you have. If it's sand, I might suggest adding a slight amount of DE to the filter to help filter residual algae. If you have a sand filter and are interested, let me know.

It's in my sig on my original post, but it is a sand filter. I do have some DE on hand

Because your doing so well by holding FC, you might want to try this: Pool School - Add DE to a Sand Filter. Also, did we ever discuss deep cleaning your filter? If not, you might want to do this as well: Deep Cleaning a Sand Filter. One or both of those may be the final piece to this SLAM.

For the sig, I think there is a selection box you can check to allow your pool info to show on every post. You might want to look at that next time you get a chance.

I will definitely try those. Will doing either affect the CYA I'm putting in the pool? I'm probably due for a backwash as well.

They should effect CYA in the same way as a normal backwash (very slightly) since adding the DE should cause you to have to perform some extra backwashes. The deep clean maybe one good backwash after that process.

Deep clean complete and DE added. Back washed, rinsed and gave it a good brushing. Bumped the chlorine back up to 10 from 6. Here are some pics after I brushed the pool
