Vinyl Pool - Replacing steps and plumbing

Started last week changing over to pavers from concrete on 28 year old steel walled pool. Replacing Poly pipe with Schedule 40 PVC and replacing steps that had a severe case of blisters.

Any words of advice before I get any deeper into this?
