    Hey y'all

    Roy from Atlanta.

New to the forum and went through some trial and error on a new to us pool when we bought a house last year.

I tend to search and read more than ask anything as the usual stuff gets inane. I'm definitely learning a lot and not afraid to ask for help, super helpful forum, so thanks for the add.
New to pools, 2015 bought a house that had a pool installed in 2000
IG 35k Gal. L shaped vinyl pool. 24" sand filter. 1hp US Motor
    2 pool lights.
Just read here that I can use liquid chlorine bleach after swearing for almost a year now about pool store chlorine prices, but currently looking into an swg system.

    Welcome to TFP!!!

We are here when you have questions

Please update your signature a bit:
Hayward Vari-Flo XL is the name of the multi-valve, not the filter. What is the size/model of the filter, we do not care about the flow rating
What brand/model of pump do you have? US is just the motor manufacturer, not the pump.

    Welcome, Roy!

To be sure, most of your questions will be answered in pool school, if you take the time to go through all the articles And then there's the search box, which I bet you've found.

I just want to be the first to say,
16K freeform gunite with spa; Pentair 4000 DE filter; Century Whisperflow 1 HP; Pentair Minimax heater.
Troublefree does not mean Maintenancefree. It's like brushing your teeth: You can spend a couple minutes a day and pennies a week or go to the dentist once a year and spend several thousand dollars.
A pool is like a pet - you have to feed it every day, even the days you don't want to play with it!

Ah, okay. Was not actually aware of that. The sand tank is about 24" wide. Unfortunately, the label has been peeled off. Same for the pump, I suppose I could/should post a pic. I'm not the most experienced at pool ownership, but I feel like the mess of tubing here could be avoided, but maybe necessary due to the plumbing requirements(?)
I may look into plumbing a cleaner setup when I put in a swg kit.

    Thanks for the welcome.
