Johnson City, TN
26,000 gal Vinyl In-ground, S-200 Sand Filter
Opened Pool 8 Days ago and had bad algae bloom (see pic).
Used SLAM.
Started FC 0, PH 8.0, TA 40, CYA 40
Brought PH 7.5 and FC to 15.
Pool Responded as expected (see pics)
At day 3 passed overnight loss test and CC < 0.2 but still a little cloudy.
Raised TA up to 80, CYA to 50 and dropped FC to 4.0.
Have maintained FC 4.0-6.0 and PH 7.4 for 5 days. Backwashing at least 2-3 times a day, vacuuming fallout every day or two.
Pool remains cloudy, did I drop the FC too soon?
Any Suggestions?
Thanks

 Welcome to TFP!!!

If the water is still cloudy, then you have not passed the 3 criteria to stop maintaining the shock level FC.

Sand filters are the slowest to clear up the cloudiness and your frequent backwashing could be part of the problem. Only backwash when the pressure rises 20-25% over the clean pressure.

I would also suggest Deep Cleaning your Sand Filter and if you are not seeing daily improvement after that, you can try to Add DE to your Sand Filter.
