Heavy rain and testing numbers

How much does heavy rain (2 1/2") in a short period affect the testing numbers? CYA, FC....ect?

Not a whole lot. We got pounded last night and I had to drain some water - about an 1 inch of draining. My levels didn't change a bit. If you had heavy rain for a couple days straight or more and had to drain a lot of water, then you might see some reductions in FC, CYA or CH. pH might get driven up a little with heavy aeration. You might even see a little increase in CC from atmospheric particles that were taken to the water from the rain. But in general, one good rain storm isn't going to throw you off too badly.

Figure your average depth is somewhere between 40 and 66 inches. Call it 50 for easy math. 2.5" is only 5% of the total volume. If CYA was 50, it's now 47.5. I doubt you can even see that change on the view tube. If FC was 6, it's now 5.7. You might not even catch that with the drop test.
