I just ordered and received a new Pentair multiport valve replacement (pn261152). I think I should have ordered pn261050, but I don't see any reason why I cannot use the one I received. Yes, it has threaded connections which will require three threaded PVC connectors. It is the pressure side, so leaks should be obvious.
My real concern is the connection from the pump outputmto the valve. It is side mounted, unlike my original that connects via the bottom. Again, I do not see any problems other than new PVC connectors and a short riser piece on the pump output to achieve the new level.
Am I missing something, or will this substitution be OK?
