I just fixed a issue similar to yours. I blew out the line first and then added suction with my shop vac. Once under suction I laid on the glue to the outside of the pipe and it worked beautifully

For a permanent fix, I would use marine epoxy. Anything else may not last very long.
I used regular pvc glue. Marine epoxy will work to but my way gets it into the cracks way down inside

PVC glue? By itself, I don't think that will hold for very long. Normally, you have to mix it with PVC pipe shavings so it will bond properly but on it's own, it won't bond properly.
