Heater Plumbing PVC/CPVC - Black Couplings - Which Cement

I am plumbing a Laars heater and they provide black plastic couplers/coupling nuts to connect the heater to the pool PVC plumbing. My question is what cement should I use to bond the Laars black plastic coupler to the PVC pool plumbing.

Is the coupler ABS or something else.
Is there a transition cement or should I use normal PVC cement.

The Laars manual says nothing about the type of plastic that these couplers are made of.

I would recommend giving them a call on Monday, just to be sure you're not missing anything for your warranty.

The coupler is cpvc, it is more heat resistant than pvc. You can use Oatey red

I would tend to agree with pooldv, all purpose red will work regardless if it is black PVC or black CPVC
