Helpful Hint?

My suction side "The Pool Cleaner" kept crawling up the side of the pool and when reaching the water-line would a make a sound that was scaring children and adults alike.

I tried adjusting the defuser fitting several ways with no luck.

Finally, I took a 7/32" drill bit and made a small hole in the back of the leaf canister towards the pump and below the water line. Voilà, it now climbs up the wall only 3/4 of the way.

The monster has been silenced!

Mine does not climb that high, sounds like you have more suction going through it than was needed. Is yours hooked directly to the skimmer line and thus getting all the suction?

Mine has its own suction port and I divert a good portion of the suction to the skimmer.

Mine goes straight to the skimmer. They enclose a fitting to divert some of the suction, but even at full open, the thing climbed to the top of the water line in an 8' deep pool.
